On April 15, 2021, the first regional event of its kind was held, co-organized by the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, the Swiss-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the North Macedonian Swiss Business Club.

The online event was attended by about 80 participants. Honorary guests with official greetings were the Swiss ambassadors to the four countries, who gave a brief overview of the Swiss presence in the respective states. Representatives of the Swiss Export Agency (Switzerland Global Enterprise – S-GE) presented the role of the agency and their partnership with the bilateral organizations in the region. They also briefly presented the Swiss perspective for the region as a whole, as well as shared good practices in bilateral economic relations with the regional countries and Switzerland. The presentations of the mixed organizations were led by their presidents or chairmen of the board.

At the end of the event, the open Q&A session encouraged further future cooperation at the regional level, with proposals for specific joint initiatives and events for 2021.
