Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and HE Muriel Berset Kohen visited HOWAG company in Targovishte

On December 14, 2020, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, together with the Ambassador of Switzerland to Bulgaria HE Muriel Berset Kohen and Mr. Boni Bonev, Chairman, BSCC Managing Board, visited the cable assembly factory of HOWAG, member of the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce.

Prime Minister Borissov stressed that the government, the Swiss embassy in Sofia and the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce continue to work together to attract new Swiss investors to the country.

In addition to assembling cables and cable systems, HOWAG is producing electric motors, as part of the respiratory apparatus needed in the current global COVID-19 situation.

The Prime Minister Boyko Borissov thanked the Ambassador of Switzerland to Bulgaria HE Muriel Berset Kohen for the efforts in the interest of the development of the relations between Bulgaria and Switzerland, including in the economic sphere. At the end of June 2020, Switzerland’s foreign direct investment in Bulgaria amounted to 1.37 billion euros, which ranked the country tenth in terms of foreign direct investment in Bulgaria.
