Nestlé Bulgaria shares the Nestlé 2020 Creating Shared Value and Sustainability Report

On behalf of Nestlé Bulgaria, we would like to proudly share with you the report on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development of Nestlé for 2020, which includes the fulfilment of a large part of the company’s public commitments.

The report was verified by Bureau Veritas UK Limited, a leader in testing, inspection and certification. It incorporates Nestlé’s global commitments in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They are related to the promotion of a healthier lifestyle for children and adults, improving the quality of life among the communities in which Nestlé operates, as well as protecting and restoring the environment.

Nestlé’s achievements so far include:

– More than 4,900 food and beverages for expectant and new mothers, infants and children have been on sale since 2016, including plant-based products. Also, during this period, 80 million children received advice related to a balanced diet.
– 36.7% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions per tonne of production since 2010
– As of December 2020, 90% of the regions from which risky raw materials such as palm oil, pulp, paper, soybeans, meat and sugar are extracted, are assessed as those without logging.
– 127,550 children were protected from the risk of child labour exploitation through income generation initiatives, training classes, school kits, renovation of school buildings.
